Why choose Premium tyres over budget alternatives?
Kwik Fit | Friday 16th January 2015 10:00am

Everyone loves a bargain, but when it comes to buying new tyres for your vehicle, selecting the cheapest tyre available may not be the best option in the long run. Whilst premium tyres can be a little more expensive, the old adage ‘you get what you pay for’ certainly rings true and, in the long term, could actually be more cost effective.
If you think all tyres are essentially the same, Pirelli have carried out extensive research and created a short animation to show the range of proven benefits that premium tyres can provide over their budget counterparts, from improved fuel efficiency to increased durability that could see a Pirelli premium tyre last 33% longer than a budget make.
Safety First
Long term cost savings aside, what Pirelli’s research proves is that a premium tyre is a safer tyre. The shorter stopping distances that premium tyres demonstrate over budget alternatives (a whopping 16 metres shorter when travelling at 60mph in the wet) together with improved aquaplaning resistance for better cornering and control in wet conditions, make them the safest tyres you can buy.
Kwik Fit stocks a range of premium tyres from top manufacturers including Pirelli, Goodyear and Michelin for all major vehicle models. Find premium tyres for my car.
